Kids Around the World Cooking Camp Photo Album

We loved having a full house of 50 campers eager to learn cooking skills with recipes from the Caribbean, Italy, France, and China!

After acting out the rules of the kitchen, we began Cooking Around the World in the Caribbean with Baked Coconut Shrimp and Pineapple Upside Down Cupcakes.

One of our kitchen rules is that clean up always follows cooking! Campers learn responsible habits that will make you happy to have them cooking in your own kitchen.

On Day 2 we traveled to Italy and made our own pizzas for lunch! Then campers learned about using yeast while making Ciabatta Bread. For a fun competition, each team tried building the tallest Leaning Tower of Piza with angel hair pasta and mini marshmallows. The winning tower was 17 1/2 inches tall!

On Day 3 it was on to France where each kiddo made dinner for their family: Salad with French Vinaigrette, Poulet Roti au Citren (roasted lemon chicken) and Potatoes Gratin.

Chef Christopher showed everyone how to prepare their chickens for roasting. We peeled potatoes and then learned how a commercial kitchen slices potatoes so quickly!

We love “challenges” in camp! We began Day 4 with an omelette challenge. Each camper created their own unique omelette for judging. Our ever-popular signature cookie challenge was a special treat enjoyed by the counselors a.k.a. judges!!

While in China we chopped vegetables and made delicious fried rice!

For a grand finale to Cooking Around the World, we passed out certificates and awards to these talented young chefs, and our counselors were thrilled to receive the sweetest thank you cards! It was such a treat to share a week of skills learned, new friends, and fun memories together!!
